Since these are affirmations for when you're feeling stressed out, I got into them pretty quickly.
Hey reaction, it’s time to stopHey negative thoughts, I’m putting on the brakesHey anger, I hear you, and you can sit down nowThe stressor ain’t going to change because I’m freaking outHey nervous system, I am choosing calm over stressing out right nowI don’t care what time of day it is, I am restarting my dayIt’s time to reset my nervous systemI deserve better than to freak out, stress out and totally overwhelm myselfI deserve better than to give myself thatI am evolving and changing how I reactIt’s incredible that I’m catching myself in this stressed out stateAnd I am calling on every single emotional muscle I have to pull myself into a relaxed stateI know it’s so easy to take the stressed out pathBecause I’ve done that for so longBut it’s not the person I want to be todayIt’s not the person I want to be nowI wanna be someone who can experience the stressor without reacting this stronglyI acknowledge there tension that is hereI acknowledge the tension in my bodyI acknowledge the mental and emotional impact of what’s happening hereAnd I acknowledge the circumstances I also know that self-care is a channel that I need to use right nowThat I need to connect with right nowI am taking deep breathsI am picturing my power to overcome thisI am in touch with my coreI shake out all the stressed out vibesI feel them exiting my body nowI am not avoiding the stressorI am controlling how I respond to the stressorYeah, I’m becoming someone who stays collectedAnd not frazzledI feel my call for tension to stand downI feel my jaw easeI feel my shoulders relaxI feel my hands softenI steer my mind to what helps settle my bodyI am doing an amazing job with thisI am strong to improve my stress management skillsI am brave to try something new hereI am clear on the direction I’m going inI am clear on my best stress management strategies that I will choose to do and use after I listen to thisMy stress management skills aren’t just ideas, they’re not just thoughts or things I’ve put on a piece of paperI’m applying them, I’m doing them, I’m becoming themI will now focus on what will get me through in the best way possible for meAffirmations by Josie Ong
