Loosening Worry
Turning your attention now to your body
Take a deep breath
Feeling oxygen entering through your nose
Releasing that air and keeping your attention inside your body
Paying full attention to how your body feels right now
Sensing the warmth of your body
Noticing your tongue relax away from the roof of your mouth and nestle at the bottom of your mouth
Right now, do what relaxes you
Continue giving yourself this time because it’s worth it and so are you
Continuing your deep breaths, look for one place where you store worry in your body
Focus in on this area of your body
Take a moment and examine the way worry lives here and the way worry functions here
When you’re ready, picture a helpful image that shows a loosening of the worry that's here
For some picturing a faucet or a tap where the worry drains away helps
Others, for those stubborn worries, visualize a screwdriver turning left and releasing a bolt
Picture whatever works for you
And watch the worry loosen as you open yourself to the release
Whatever form the worry is in, as a solid, liquid or gas, find that mechanism to free yourself from the worry
If you need a landing pad for the worry, imagine a box or a jar to store the worry in, or picture a worry tree or a bird to hang the worry
Be sure that the worry has left your body
If you need, picture a grave or toilet or rocket, somewhere that the worry goes to
Take your time, there’s no rush
Ensure the worry is fully cleared while you’re here
This is a time of transformation for you
Feel the restoration in your body
Enjoy the softness where the worry used to be
Feel comfortable and at home with this ease
When you’re ready, embrace a concluding gesture for this process
Perhaps it’s a smile or a yawn or a shift in the position of your arms or your shoulders
It could be speaking or meditating on a word such as ‘healed,’ or a phrase such as ‘the worry is gone,’ or ‘I am a new person’
Some enjoy hugging a pillow or caressing their arm, face or leg
Others like to dance, rock back and forth or lie down and stretch out
Do what works for you and enjoy living worry free
